One Martini .......... and I'm on the floor ;)

ROFL - seriously ..... one glass of wine does it for me!  One Martini?  You'll find me on the floor for sure!

For this month's SOTC card, our fabulously funny and talented hostess, Karen, asked us to create a card with humor.  So Addy tude here has never seen ink in the year+ that I've owned her, so it was time for her to play :)

My card is pretty simple ~ I kept going over and over the layout, the papers, the flowers - adding some, taking them back off ...... and my daughter convinced me that the ones I'd added to the top were "too much, too busy and you covered up the pretty paper!"  Alas, here were are with Addy 'tude and her 'tinis, rofl!

Blessings!

Sketchy Wednesday with Fresh Brewed Designs!

Happy rainy Wednesday from Miami! Alhough it's early Tuesday night here, I'm posting early ~ outside my dining room window I"m looking at some pretty dark skies, howling winds, the pool water is spilling over and the kids toys are blowing all over the yard!  We are expecting torrential rains tonight from a tropical storm watch, I believe, and they made an annoucement that the schools will possibly be closed ........... I heard a huge "YAY!!!!!!!" from my quad, lolol!  (which is a blessing, for driving in the rain for me is sheer terror!)

So this week at the FBD Challenge blog, there's a sketch for you to try!

Here it is:

My card for you today is using the beautifully designed "give thanks pumpkin" available here in the store.  Using papers from the K & Co Fall Harvest collection and felt flowers, a gift from a dear friend {*muah, hugs!*}, I created this Autumn pumpkin card.   I left off the sentiment though it calls for one on the sketch as lucky me, the pumpkin already says "give thanks" and that speaks volumns :)

We'd love for you to stop by and play along in the challenge!  Click HERE! :)

Thanks for stopping by today!
Blessings,
~Kelly

Rules of 3's -- and exciting news to share! :)

Howdy everyone!  I'm so excited to share that when I hopped online to read a few emails, one of the ones I read was the announcement from Kristy at Kuttin Kards that I have made her first DT for Buttons and Bows!  I am super excited as her talent is absolutely amazing - and if you run over to her blog, you'll see one scrumptious donut recipe with photos to match - DELISH!   Buttons have ALWAYS been one of my favorite embelllies to use on my card making -- and hers are mind boggling amazing in creativity and craftsmanship.  Take a peek!

And I have a card for you!  I have been meaning to play along in the Cowgirl UP blog challenges since my sweet friend April made the DT, alas, time has been my adversary!  But I'm here this week!  There is a rule of 3's this week, using 3 different designer papers and 3 different flowers.  The minute I saw this darling digi stamp called "Lil Bit", I had to have her - she reminded me somewhat of a little Holly Hobby which I loved as a little girl!!  I colored her with my prismas and love the vibrant scene of flowers and fence she is standing next to (oh, not the way I colored her, rofl!  the way it was drawn, hee hee!)  I continued the color palette by adding some various flowers from prima and beyond in colors of tan, brown, vanilla, olive and harvest gold - I just mixed and matched them to size and added, of course, a button in the middle with some embroidery floss to anchor it :)  I'm way overdue for sending a special friend a card and I hope this one will do!

Entered into the following challenges:
Tuesdaytaggers - anything Goes

Blessings to you this Monday -- fortunately for me I am not volunteering anywhere today and rescheduled my "coffee time" with my super fab mom friend and plan to rest and catch up on my tornado strewn house!

Hugs!
~Kelly

Lord of the Harvest ....

It's Sensational Saturday at SCH!  Today's post from the DT is using the Ask the Lord of the Harvest digi, available here in the store and just in time for Fall!

This beautiful vintage tag has a lovely christian verse on it with some darling primitive pumpkins
and scrollwork on the edging of the digi.  Just beautiful!

For my card, I actually made an invite but unsure yet what it will be an invite for - what a beautiful place setting for Thanksgiving, or a name card or invitation to stop by for dinner :)

Thanks for stopping by!
Be sure to stop by and see what the rest of the DT have created for you to see!

Blessings,

Happy Friday! How exciting that you were able to stop by today!  It's a Birthday blog hop in honor our DT member, Darsie, who is celebrating a milestone 5-0 birthday today!

Happy 5o years young, Darsie! :)

Today our dear design team sister Darsie Bruno is celebrating her GOLDEN birthday -- that's right -- the big 5-0! Such a momentous occasion calls for a party, don't you think? So the Deedee's Digis design team is throwing her one -- a Golden Birthday Blog Hop -- and we invite you to be part of the fun!!! Here's how you can join the party:

Visit each of our participating designers' blogs to see what special birthday creation they have made. You'll want to visit them in the order listed here, because...

In addition to sharing some creative fun, each designer will also have a letter (of the alphabet) to share with you. If you put all the letters together, it will spell out the special code with which to claim your party favor! Email me the code to Deedee at amiste@sonic.net and she'll send you the new "Happy Birthday to Ewe" digi:

Once you've collected your party favor, please stop by the birthday girl's blog and leave her some love. On Monday Darsie will choose one random winner from among her well-wishers who will receive a GOLDEN grand prize -- a $50 credit to spend at our store!

Alright people, let's get to partying!  For the hop, you should have arrived from Jerusha's wonderful blog.  If not, start from the beginning!

My card for you is part of a gift set I made :)   The card is a birthday card w/ a beary wonderful birthday gift using  the Bear-y Merry Christmas set!  It's that versatile - this set can be used for the holidays and beyond.  I made a box set to match that is filled with paper flowers.

A Mother's Prayer ......

Did you watch Glee tonight?   I did, I did!  I have been waiting for weeks for the premiere tonight and the girls and I sat with eyes glued to the tv and it did not disappoint!  Wow .....amazing talent, energy and voices!

It's been such a busy couple of weeks here with nooooooo chance of slowing down any time soon, so I was happy to have a chance to make this sweet little card, just because :)   I saw this poem online a little while back and clicked it into my faves ~ and while searching my files I stumbled across it again.  Isn't life funny that way? :)

A MOTHER'S PRAYER
Dear Lord, it's such a hectic day,
With little time to stop and pray,
For life's been anything but calm
Since You called me to be a mom--
Running errands, matching socks,
Building dreams with wooden blocks,
Cooking, cleaning, finding shoes
And all the things that children lose,
Fitting lids on bottled bugs,
Wiping tears and giving hugs,
A stack of last week's mail to read--
So where's the quiet time I need?
Yet, when I steal a moment, Lord,
Just at the sink or ironing board,
To ask the blessings of Your grace,
I see then, in my small one's face,
That you have blessed me all the while --
And I stoop to kiss that precious smile!
{Author unknown}

To go along with this poem, I made my card using a Deedee's Digi called "Bear Hugs" along with the matching sentiment.  These bears just get cuter and cuter to use! There is such a wonderful variety and did you know that there is a section of digis for just $1.00 in the shop?  Take a peek!  And don't forget the challenge going on right now to use green, orange and yellow on your card and link it up to the challenge blog :)

One of the sweetest rewards of being mommy is that even when the days are long, car commutes are long and piles of laundry and the "to do" is forever high and long, there is nothing greater than a sweet little smile and a loving hug to bring back that feeling of peace and unconditional love :)  I'm so blessed, truly!

Thanks for stopping by today!
Off to bed for me!

Hugs 'n Blessings!

Skip the Turkey - Have pie! :)

*Removed for publication*

Hee hee!  Isn't this the cutest lil guy ever!  This is a new release from Deedee's Digis, available here, in the shop!  Wednesday is the first day of Fall - can you believe how fast time if whizzing by us!

I just fell in love with this little turkey and sentiment and couldn't wait to start coloring him :)  I used the sketch from CardPatterns this week, pulled the challenge from Deedee's Challenge Blog this week to use orange, green and yellow - perfect for this Crate Paper dsp I've had stashed away.   I'll have to retake better photos tonight when I get home -- I'm dashing out the door to start kiddie pick-ups from their schools, then little man has TaeKwanDo and dd11 starts Girl Scouts tonight as well ..... sounds like a good night for McDonalds for dinner ;)

Toodles!
Blessings,
~Kelly

Yum, Yum! Recipe Swap!

Good morning!  My lovely friend, April, is hosting her first swap on SCS for recipe cards ..... so I thought I'd send her a really unique one to keep for years to come and pass on to her own children!

Introducing ........ Squirrel Stew!

Hee hee!  Did I make you look?  Or at least smile!? :)
I hope so - laughter is good for the soul! x0x0

And I am definitely not ever going to make a recipe card with this poor lil sweetie!
As a vegan, and a HUGE animal lover, that would never happen,
but I sure love to laugh and need a good pick me up right now!

If you'd like to see the REAL recipe card, here is it -

Magic Pumpkin Pie!

For this recipe, it's one that my girls' tried a year or so ago at a Harvest church party and it came out super nice - very smooth, creamy and yumm-a-licious!  I paired it with my Autumn-ish looking SU! Paper that I found in my stash, Gina K Pumpkin Spice and SU Close to Cocoa cardstock, a cute lil House Mouse pumpkin image and the envelope has a hidden surprise inside for the swappers that should receive this ;)  And .. surprise!  I used ric-rac! :)~
The tiny little bling is from the new i-rock tool that has sat in my scraproom - my sweet friend Michelle recently blogged about using hers and it inspired me to finally take mine out!  (thanks, love!)  I was majorly strapped for time and had to use it quickly but I can see lots of fun in the future with it!

Thanks for stopping by - sooooo much still to be done here and I'm running out of time, so I'll wish you all a wonderful day and many blessings!

Fresh Brewed Designs - D.A.R.E :)

This week at Fresh Brewed Designs, Heather gave us a D.A.R.E. challenge to work with!

D - distressing
A - Autumn
R - ribbons
E - embellishments

How fun!  I love Autumn and the promise of the season changing, bringing forth new splendor's of His greatest creations.  Anytime I get to create with Fall in mind, it's a good thing!  For this card, I used the FBD image Pump'korn - super cute and just as sweet as can be with his happy, smiling face!   You can find him here, in the FBD shop :)

Thanks for stopping by!
Blessings,

Kelly

Dueling Darling Divas - Dueling w/ Cute and Cuddly! ;)

How exciting!  It's been a month since the Dueling Darling Divas and Dazzlers had a friendly little duel with some cardstock, paper and a dollop of ice cream cuteness!  And we are back today with another friendly duel - our August kits!

This month's theme:  Cute and Cuddly!

Our hostess for this month's adventure is Joan (affectionally known as Ms. earlgrey in the SCS swap world!) and sent the Divas the most adorable kit to work with!   I jumped for joy opening up this envelope and seeing this Penny Black little boy image along with my very favorite color combination of greens and browns - lucky, lucky!  She sent us the images,  3 sheets of recycle paper and some ribbons, brads, buttons, hardware .... I truly wanted to use it all!  I used the solid tan and argyle print dsp for the backdrop, ran the green sheet thru my cuttlebug with a matching argyle folder so it would match, used the fabulous jade green ric-rac (ohhhh how did she know how much I adore ric-rac!!), the buttons and matching green embroidery thread to make it stand out more.  There is also a sentiment that goes with this but I couldn't fit it on anywhere (just the inside!) and it reads "wish you were near".  Sooooo sweet!  For some reason, my pc screen colors are off and it looks like his shirt is the same color as the plane?!  It's not, lol!

Now hop on over and see what the Divas have created!
Barbara
Jamie
And then follow the link to see what the Dazzlers made with their Cute and Cuddly stamp!
Begin HERE!

Thanks for stopping by - I'll be back later on with my FBD post but I have to get a few hours of sleep!
I'm seeing double (triple) as it is .......
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Hugs 'n Blessings!

You are a Sweet Treat!

Hi everyone - Blessings to you on this wonderful Tuesday! I'm so excited to share this post with you today - it's EXTRA sweet! ;) Today I bring you a project that I was working on when I realized that there are events coming up at my son's school with lots of small tokens of appreciation and "thank yous" and "just because" gifts that will be given out from my son :) And I got to thinking ...... wow, that can really add up!  But you can still craft on a budget, not break the bank and still have fun creating :)

Did you know that with just the right digi, a few scraps of paper and cardstock, you can give out a really nice gift set? It's true! This lovely little candy trio that you are looking at was made with all scrap papers! The only thing to purchase are the sweet lil digis (that you can use over and over again - gifts, cards, scrapbook pages - the possibilities are endless!) and my candy bar @ 69c and tada! Crafting on a budget has never been easier! I went thru my big 'ol scrap pile of paper and was so lucky to find this shimmery dsp from a swap from last year and it was just enough to adorn my cut-up pieces of card stock scraps, misc flowers and ribbon pieces from my remnants jars :) For me, learning to craft on a budget has become essential and I was amazed at how something so small could turn into something so sweet :)

In this set, I've made a small triangular stand up candy and card holder ~ a regular size candy bar fits beautifully inside as it measures 5.5 x 4.25". The candy bar wrapper dimensions are 5 x 2 and the little matching gift tag card is 3 x 3". Easy peasy and oh so sweet! I was able to use the main digi stamp and 2 of the sentiments from the Sweetest Treat digi set, here .....

Isn't it just the sweetest?
And the Harvest/H'ween festivities are just around the corner!!
Thanks for stopping by today!

  Blessings!

It's a Dog's Life .....

and I wish it were mine!  Tee hee!   I'm sorry to be MIA on my blogging and blog rounds - I have missed visiting you daily and see your awesome creations!  It's been an uber cah-razy week and even crazier weekend, and this week is shaping up to look about the same thing!

So since I don't have a post scheduled for today, I thought I'd share with you a picture my dd took that cracked me up!  When our puppy sleeps, he sleeps well, pampered little pooch!  She had these from our last summer's flight to Europe and thought "Movie Star" here would need them for his beauty sleep!

I tell ya, light's out ..... and I'm stealing them! *grin!* I could use a good night's sleep!

Happy SONday!
Many blessings,

A Saturday Sketch with SCH - Blessings*

Happy Friday!  {even though it's late, late Thursday night!}  I'm sorry for the short post tonight - I'm absolutely running in 10 directions right now and have to catch a breather just to create, photograph and write up a post!

Funny ... there are moments I'm twiddling my thumbs, spending hours online and it seems like I'm the only one there, whistling to myself - thinking "wow, wish I could bottle up this spare time to use at another moment!"  LIKE NOW, lol.

Short and sweet ....... Sugar Creek Hollow is now open and stock full of wonderful Harvest and Fall digital images!  Stop on by and take a peek!

My card for you today is for the Fabulous Friday challenge based on a sketch:

Using a pre-cut K & Co card base, I added some K & Co Ancestry papers, distressed it
and used this elegant and simple Blessings to you digi from SCH, cut out with some nesties for dimension. Please check out the SCH blog to see the sketch and what the rest of the DT
have created for you!

Entered in:  Stampin' for the Weekend:  Vintage

Fresh Brewed Designs Blog Hop :)

Good Morning! **YAWN STRETCH** Can you believe a whole month went by already? School is already started for most of our little ones. Moms are all busy and getting up early, always on the go. We know how you are feeling. TRUST US! We know! This blog hop / image release was created with you in mind.  You should have arrived here from JENN - if not, check the links below so you can find your way :)

Ready for a hint? Here is a little poem for you:

Coffee and spice, Lattes are nice
That's what this girl's made of!

You guessed it, we have some fun coffee images to share with you. LOTS of caffeinated fun... just the boost you need for the mid week slump. You will find some relaxing images, some sassy 'woohoo the kids are gone' (lol) images... but most of all you will find these images are perfect images for someone you love. They are centered around love and romance with a dash of sass. Intrigued?

Here's the card set I made for you!  I kept it simple so that I could make a matching set - one card and one gift card holder for a certain little coffee shop that I know absolutely NOTHING about ..... nope, not a single thing!  LOL! :)  The small gift card accompanies the card on the inside - it's a two-fer! :) :)

Be sure to complete the hop in full! The DT has created some lovely cards you will not want to miss! AND One lucky winner will receive two free images of choice just for hopping!

Hold on to your coconuts!! ;)

Happy Tuesday!
So ..... going TOTALLY out of my normal style (and comfort zone), I thought I'd show you a funny card I made for a friend's birthday :)  Now, this is WAY out of my normally quiet comfort zone, but if you knew my friend, you'd know that she is the funniest thing on wheels!
Her personality is super hilarious and she's definitely not the cutesy, fluffy Hallmark type ;)

Using my Hula Bear from Deedee's digis, the sentiment is NOT ;)
I found this cheeky saying on the internet on a tropical island calendar ~
Who knew!

The little yellow flowers are super special to me - dh and I found these when
we were window shopping last summer when we were in Europe.  We passed a small
Stempelbar in Germany and he encouraged me to go in :)  The owner was absolutely wonderful and was so excited to have an american in her little shop that I almost didn't get to look around and shop!  We just talked and talked like old friends, typical of the culture and why  my heart aches to live there once again :)  BUT!!!  I did buy some of these felt flowers (and other things, rofl) but couldn't bear to use them - until now :)

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope today brings you smiles and laughs!

Tschüß!

Sugar Creek Hollow's Fall Blog Hop ~ Welcome!!

*Removed for Publication*

We are just a few weeks away to the official start of Fall! To celebrate, we are kicking off the season today at Sugar Creek Hollow with some fantastic Fall Digis and a Brand New Design Team :)  Be sure to complete the hop and see some great cards to show you using the latest digis.   .

For my card today, I used the digi image called Baby jack basket- how adorable are these lil punkins!  One of our favorite past times is taking the kids to the pumpkin patch to chose our pumpkin for carving, make scarecrows and take a hayride, and the kids always take home the tiny pumpins for decoration :)

Now on to the rest of the DT to see what they've created!  There is no particular hop order, but stop in and give a hello to everyone!

This card is being entered into challenges for consideration:
The Wild Flower Patch  - Fall
A Crafty Little Place - Anything Goes
